A Story of Six Decades of Excellence

THE FOUNDATION
Born from a Rich Legacy
EZMA is the specialist luxury cashmere house of ESSMA — a family name synonymous with fine woollen textiles in India for over six decades. In 2004, Sameer Mehra founded EZMA with a single clear intent: to bring rigour, traceability, and honest narration back to Indian cashmere.
A Textile Mind Build on Science
Sameer Mehra is the first Indian to receive professional training at the Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand (WRONZ). Under his direction, EZMA became the first and only Indian entity associated with the CCMI — Cashmere and Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute — earning international recognition at Biella, Italy in 2012 for advanced yarn development and traceable quality systems.

the purpose
Clarity in a Crowded Category
By the early 2000s, the word "cashmere" had become one of the most misused terms in textiles. EZMA was created to change that — through genuine fibre intelligence, verifiable sourcing, and internationally tested standards that show precisely what separates a textile that endures from one that does not.
Craftsmanship, Purity & Restraint
EZMA does not compete on volume or trend. The house competes on mastery — of fibre, process, and design. True luxury in textiles is not announced. It is felt in the way a fabric settles, the warmth it holds without weight, the way it softens further with every wear.

the making
When Fibre Meets Precision
EZMA works with pure cashmere, pashmina, vicuña blends, and select noble fibres — chosen for micron count, fibre length, softness, and structural longevity. The house has achieved spinning capabilities of up to 2400 Nm in pure cashmere, among the finest known globally, and has pioneered innovations including ultra-light Soufflé cashmere, all-season chiffon cashmere, and the world's first handwoven Kaani vicuña shawls.
Modern Heirlooms, Indian Warmth
EZMA creates textiles meant to be lived with, gifted thoughtfully, and kept for a long time. Modern heirlooms shaped by heritage, precision and Indian warmth. Not a tagline. A standard.
